Free Movie Idea

Anybody ever thought of making a movie about cycle racing - One of the greatest cyclists ever was an American - I'm surprised this has never been done before. Sports movies are not what I'm interested in, but I would watch the film if anyone wants the idea...

This year Matt Damon took part in the 110km (68.3 Mile) race along with 35 000 other cyclists. He rode tandem with his younger brother Kyle. Matt is in Cape Town working along side Morgan Freemanon on the "Still to be titled" rugby movie about the 1995 Rugby World Cup; the film is being directed by Clint Eastwood.

So this Sunday was the 2009 Pick and Pay Argus Cycle tour and because of all the roadworks in the Main Road of Kalk Bay (where I live) the race was diverted over Boyes Drive and right past my garage. Usually I don't really pay any attention to the race, but this year I was kinda forced to take a closer look...

This year the race was won by Arran Brown. The race was plagued by a gale-force south-easterly wind; it was quite a sight on TV to see the wind sweep through the city streets causing the commentator to stagger on his feet and in the background about ten cyclists falling over in unison.

I was able to experiment with some photography as the cyclists rode by - here's a couple of pics:
